Leadership

Our church is governed by a “session.” A session is a group of elders elected by the congregation to make important decisions for the church. Elders are chosen by the congregation not because of their advanced age, but because of their spiritual maturity and their calling to be servant leaders in the manner of Jesus Christ. So elders can be any age, as long as they have made a public profession of their faith in Christ and are members of the church, nominated by another member to serve and elected by the congregation. Elders serve for a set period of time before rotating off session. New elders are elected in their place. This way both the burden & responsibilities of leadership is shared among many.
